What to Expect
From Damaged Vehicle to Finished Repair
Every collision is different, but the repair process should not feel like a mystery. Here is how Westex moves a vehicle from the first inspection through body, structural and paint work.
- 01
Start With the Damage
Send photos to get started or bring the vehicle to Westex for an in-person inspection. We begin by understanding the visible damage and what happened in the collision.
- 02
Inspect & Document
We inspect the vehicle, document the visible repair needs and identify areas that may require further inspection once damaged parts are removed.
- 03
Coordinate With Insurance
If an insurance claim is involved, Westex communicates with the adjuster and provides the documentation needed as the repair moves forward.
- 04
Complete the Repair
Body, structural and refinishing work is completed at our El Paso facility. If additional damage is discovered during disassembly, it is documented and addressed before the repair continues.
- 05
Final Check & Delivery
Once the repair is complete, the vehicle is reassembled, checked and reviewed with you before delivery.

FAQ
Collision Repair Questions
- Do you work with all insurance companies?
- Yes. Westex works with all insurance companies and can communicate with the adjuster throughout the collision-repair process.
- Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance company recommends?
- No. In Texas, you can choose the repair facility for your vehicle. Your insurer may recommend a shop, but the choice remains yours.
- Can I start with photos?
- Yes. Photos are a convenient way to show us the visible damage and start the conversation. A complete assessment may still require an in-person inspection and, in some cases, disassembly.
- What happens if additional damage is found after the repair begins?
- Collision damage can extend behind exterior panels. If additional repair needs are discovered during disassembly, they are documented and addressed before the repair continues. If an insurance claim is involved, additional documentation may also be submitted to the carrier.
- How long will my collision repair take?
- Repair time depends on the extent of the damage, parts availability and what is found during the repair process. Westex explains the expected timeline after inspecting the vehicle and provides updates if conditions change.
- Do you warranty collision repairs?
- Yes. Completed repairs are backed by Westex's lifetime written guarantee, subject to the terms of the written warranty.
